Who we are

The Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies is the institutional body that represents insurance companies operating in Greece, accounting for more than 95% of the premiums generated in the Greek market. HAIC is a recognized professional association with a history of more than 118 years. Over the years of its operation, its role has been constantly evolving, strengthening the voice of the insurance industry at national, European, and international levels.

The mission of the Hellenic Insurance Association, as defined in its Articles of Association, is to formulate and promote the positions and proposals of the Greek insurance market. The Association seeks cooperation and dialogue with the Greek State, the institutions of the European Union and the International Insurance Organizations. Its goal is to enhance the development prospects of the insurance industry and to create a modern and reliable insurance environment for society and the economy.

Our main goals are to:

  • Highlight the value of insurance, raising further insurance awareness among the Greek society.
  • Modernize the sector by keeping up with current developments and trends.
  • Enhance our contribution to society and the economy through the value which our sector generates.
